While the efficacy of acne laser treatment cannot be questioned, one must have oneself diagnosed by an expert dermatologist to ascertain if acne laser treatment is the only option left. Often people suffering from acne do not realize that it is something that happens as a part of growing up. This is why acne is more common among teenagers. However in good percentage of people it continues till late twenties. In those cases acne laser treatment can be the last option.

We must emphasize that laser treatment is very costly and does not guarantee that acne will not erupt at other places. It is therefore advisable to look into the reasons and factors that are causing it rather than going for laser treatment.

The most common cause of Acne is overproduction of sebum by sebaceous glands. There could be many reasons behind it. Either it has something to do with your hormonal imbalance or it is just because of oily skin. Once you are sure that everything else has failed you should go for laser treatment.

Acne laser treatment is a procedure in which laser beam is used to close the sebaceous glands that produce oil. It also kills acne producing germs very effectively. After that skin resurfacing is done which involves damaged tissue removal and tightening of collagen fiber which is very important for giving your skin the natural appearance.

This treatment despite being a costly procedure is not free of side effects. You normally feel redness and irritation around the area of treatment. In some cases it is followed by swelling as well. These side effects are very temporary and are gone in a day or two.

It is always a good idea to have a word with someone who has already undergone laser treatment. Discuss everything about the treatment that comes to your mind. Only after looking at every aspect of the treatment, think of giving it a try.
